My Gulf Story....
Hi allI was born and brought up in Bhiwandi, Mumbai, India. Like all locals in India it was my dream to work abroad. I didnt have any relatives abroad so I approached the local agency dreaming big big things. I have given Rs 80,000 to the agency. Finally I Got an opportunity to work in Bahrain. I was like Bahrain, where the hell is that???......Then I was like oh its the gulf somewhere near Saudi Arabia. I was so excited and very happy finally I am going abroad will be getting good job and good lifstyle. I started dreaming every night about my new lifestyle. Finally the day came, on 23 May 2010, 8:15am (Bahrain Time) I reached Bahrain International Airport with little fear and too much excitement. My First Boss came to Airport to pick me and was in the car looking at the tall buildings being surprised and excited. He dropped me to the room situated near Gold City and asked me to join the office the other day. By the way I forgot to tell you that my Boss took to me to the office first and took my passport and all aother paper and then dropped me at the room.My job was to create designs for Flyer, Banners, Brouchures etc.Things were going good and I also got some good friends and shifted my room and was staying with them.After 6 months I had problem with my boss as he was not paying the salary on time and was always delaying it and not only that he used to cut the salary as well for silly reasons for being late for 2 minutes which is not at all acceptable. I was facing lot of problem with cash as i didnt cash for food also thats when my friends came to my rescue, they used to provide me food and also said I can stay with as long as I get a better job.There were three staffs working in the office and all three were very good friends and stayed together. There was also one Lady who are the business partner of my boss, they were running it together. I took Mobility and gave my resignation later, but the main problem I face was he was not giving my passport back.I approached the local court and filed case and got the letter from the court to work anywhere but I still dont know how the case got solved or what happened later.Finally I got an opportunity, Thanks to FACEBOOK, My friend had send me a contact of her friend and asked me to send my CV. I was excited and praying that I dont miss this opportunity. It was in East Riffa almost one hour from Manama the place I was staying.I got the opportunity as the designer, the designer there was going back home for marriage. There were four staff one sales man, two designers including me and one accountant. The work atmosphere was awesome and boss was also good. Things was going good but the problem I faced was travel everyday I had to come and go by bus to Manama an sometimes I get late at work and is so tiring.The designer has gone to India and I was facing little problem regarding the arabic customer and they were complaining also. I could only type in Arabic and couldnt speak or understand. The Sales man was very very helpful and caring and show concern to me also. He used to say dont worry its just the beginning slowly slowly you will be used to it. Life was going on and it was the daily routine coming by bus. Then suddenly there was change in management and the old boss was kicked out of the company.The new management was awesome and superb.Then came ramzan and the management asked me to stay with my collegues because of the timings during ramzan. I was staying with salesman, he was very co-operative and didnt face any problem in the room.After six month the designer comes back and he has helped me and taught me a lot and now we three are staying in one room me the salesman and the designer, cooking at home watching tv and having fun.Must say, the salesman is an awesome cook, all the curry he makes is mouth watering and so delicious, cant avoid it.I am still working here and still dont have my passport.I approached the local police station for my passport and they said they have filed case against my boss in the local court.I am praying and waiting for an reply from the court My life is like an routine now of going to office coming back at night having dinner and watching television for sometime and sleeping.www.mominfurqan.webs.com
